But instead of screaming out into the void, they found support from many, especially so after the so-called “update” did nothing to change the way things were over the last three years or so.Įven worse, events such as these usually run for a limited time. Red Dead Online’s neglect in favor of Grand Theft Auto Online has stoked the flames of resentment for well over a year.įans took to Twitter to voice out their grievances. Fans of Red Dead Redemption 2’s online mode are furious, to put it mildly. “Save Red Dead Online” has been trending this afternoon on Twitter awash with mentions of Red Dead Online all morning. Which was actually kinda great.Start off the new year with bonuses on A Land of Opportunities, Call to Arms, Gang Hideouts and more, all month long in Red Dead Online: /OfuzH9igx3- Rockstar Games Janu#SaveRedDeadOnline ![]() We just assumed he was doing it on purpose and thought it was hilarious, and then he's like "GODDAM WHY WONT THIS THING SLOW DOWN?" and we realized he had the wrong controls hahaha. A friend of mine went in blind to red dead online and picked it up over a few nights, but one thing he kept launching his horse into trees and shit, because he assumed A (X on PS5) was to speed up your horse, and so X (square) was how to you slowed down, but that's actually the horse vault button, so he was constantly vaulting himself off cliffs. Still you can quickly figure it out on your own too. Like RD Online doesn't hold your hand for learning these things, jsut kinda assumes you know them or learn them. The single player introduces these concepts as you get those guns, but in online it just ssort of assumes you'll know them. ![]() And unless you expect the "Press R2/RT to cock, press R2/RT to fire" it'll end up feeling like "wtf the shooting in this is so fucked up it never shoots on time." When, really, it's a double action revolver, vs. rifles, like just the very way that you shoot them is different. Like, for instance, the difference between single action vs. Red Dead has some complex systems (needlessly complex in some instances and others that are very complex but have basically zero affect on the game), but even some simple ones that are different from most other "Action" games. The whole controls scheme, aiming, shooting, interacting with things. Hmm, I think it's worth playing the single player for a couple hours first because there's a lot of gameplay concepts that they expect you to just know in Red Dead Online, without explaining how to do them. There's also set pvp modes and PvP challenges that popup every 10-15 mins or so. You can set your gameplay to defensive mode which you can still be injured but it makes it harder for players to aim on you / lock on, so you're less likely to get griefed. Red means they're more aggressive and have been killing other players for a specific period of time. I do kinda wish there was a "high stakes" mode where it was more aggressive or like a setting you could toggle to try to get a large payout but it kinda advertised that you want some heat or something.Ī blue player on your map is usually just a random person playing. For the most part I think you shouldn't fuck with other people, it's bad manners. So when it tells you a rival is doing something and they can be attacked they're not really you're rival, it's just another player doing something that opens them up to a lucrative payout and then a possible lucrative opportunity for you to fuck with them. ![]() For passive long time players there's a sense that you shouldn't fuck someone over. Anyone can attack at any time but most people usually don't.
